Phil
is among the many missing heroes from the tragedy at the World
Trade Center on September 11, 2001, who was performing his duties
as an on site Fire Safety Inspector. Retired from the FDNY badge
#6366 after 20 years of service at Engine Co. #217 in Brooklyn.
Phil is survived by his loving wife and best friend of al most
50 years Virginia. Devoted father of Virginia (Richard) McDermott,
Philip (Genia) Hayes, Jr., Theresa (Brian) O'Gara and Laura (Scott)
Froehlich. Dear son of Muriel Hayes. Cherished grandfather of
Richard, James and Virginia McDermott, Kelly, Thomas, Amy and
Meaghan O'Gara, Jessica Hayes, Nicholas and Philip Froeh lich.
Beloved brother of Loretta Salome, Helen Devita, Marie Nicotra,
Marian Garcia, Nancy Ortiz, Fred, John, Thomas, Joseph, Edward,
Jerry, Robert and Michael Hayes and the late Marilyn and James
Hayes. Memorial visitation, Thurs day and Friday 2-5, 7-9PM at
the Brueggemann Funeral Home, 522 Larkfield Rd., East Northport,
NY. Memorial Mass, Saturday 9:45AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC
Church, East Northport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
